19 ships, each over 300 million yuan! Guangxi’s first batch of new-energy vessels have been officially contracted and construction has begun.
On March 22, Guiping Hongxin Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. held the "Intelligent Control of New Energy, Sharing a 'Carbon' Future—Green Intelligent Ship Commencement Ceremony." At the event, cooperation agreements were signed with Qingyuan Lihang Transportation Co., Ltd., Guangdong Yizhilian Marine Engineering Co., Ltd., and Guangxi Jinmao Shipping Co., Ltd. for the construction of a total of 19 new energy ships, marking a new chapter in Guiping's green intelligent shipbuilding industry.
These 19 ships include 8 methanol-powered multipurpose ships (Qingyuan Lihang), 2+7 pure electric-powered Pinglu Canal bulk carriers (Guangdong Yizhilian), and 2 LNG hybrid-powered oil and chemical carriers (Guangxi Jinyuan), all of which are the first of their kind in Guangxi. Among them, the 12 ships signed and commenced construction represent a total investment of 224 million yuan, while the remaining 7 intended orders represent a total investment of 112 million yuan.
Guiping Hongxin Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. is the largest private shipbuilding enterprise in Guangxi, holding a secondary Class III steel general ship production qualification and an old ship dismantling qualification. The company has the capability to produce a full range of steel, aluminum alloy, and fiberglass ships. Covering an area of 600 acres, it integrates design, construction, dismantling, and sales, with 173 shipbuilding berths.
In recent years, the company has actively responded to the national "dual carbon" strategy, seizing the opportunity for green transformation in inland waterway shipping. It has made continuous efforts in the field of new energy ship manufacturing, fully promoting the green and low-carbon development of the Xijiang Golden Waterway. In this process, the company has closely collaborated with upstream and downstream enterprises such as Zichai Power Co., Ltd. to jointly advance the application of green intelligent ship technologies.
It is understood that Guiping Hongxin Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. was established in 2009 with a registered capital of 30 million yuan. Hongxin Shipbuilding is the largest private shipyard in Guiping, covering an area of approximately 600 acres, with over 800 meters of riverbank and docks, and workshop areas exceeding 8,000 square meters. The open-air operation area spans more than 200,000 square meters, with 173 shipbuilding berths ranging from 1,000 to 6,000 tons, and 50,000 square meters of production support workshops. The annual production capacity includes over 200 steel cargo ships, 50 public service and marine engineering ships, 20 luxury yachts, and repairs for more than 100 ships.
Next, Guiping City will continue to increase policy support, fully implement national and regional enterprise benefit policies, deepen the "streamline administration, delegate power, improve regulation, and optimize services" reform, and precisely coordinate to address practical difficulties in enterprise project construction and production operations. The city will strengthen collaborative innovation, overcome key technologies, and work together to create more competitive green intelligent ship products, continuously enhancing the "Guiping Shipbuilding" brand and promoting the shipbuilding industry toward green, intelligent, and high-end development.
