19 ships, each over 300 million yuan! Guangxi’s first batch of new-energy vessels have been officially contracted and construction has begun.

On March 22, 2024, Guiping Hongxin Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., the largest private shipbuilding enterprise in Guangxi, held a green intelligent ship construction ceremony, and signed 19 new energy ship construction cooperation agreements with Qingyuan Lihang, Guangdong Yizhilian and Guangxi Jinmao, with a total investment of more than 0.3 billion yuan. The ships signed this time include 8 methanol-powered distribution dual-purpose ships, 27 pure electric-powered Pinglu Canal bulk carriers and 2 LNG hybrid oil and chemical ships, all of which are the first batch of similar new energy ships to be built in Guangxi, of which 12 have been confirmed to start construction with an investment of 0.224 billion yuan and 7 are intended orders. Hongxin Shipping Company was established in 2009 and has complete ship design, construction, dismantling capabilities and large-scale production facilities. In recent years, it has actively deployed the field of new energy shipbuilding to respond to the "double carbon" goal and seize the green transformation of inland shipping Opportunity.
