Zhoushan suspends 21 water passenger routes, evacuating nearly 30,000 island tourists in advance.

Due to the impact of strong winds at sea, as of 3:00 PM on August 6, 21 water passenger routes in Zhoushan have been suspended; the passenger ferry route from Zhujiajian to Putuoshan will be fully suspended after the 8:00 PM departure on August 6, with an expected suspension of 4–5 days. At that time, all 72 water passenger routes in Zhoushan will be suspended.

As the only all-island county in Zhejiang, Shengsi seized the window of opportunity before the typhoon's impact to initiate passenger evacuation work in advance, coordinating the transportation capacity of islands such as Sijiao, Huaniao, Gouqi, and Shengshan to guide passengers to evacuate in an orderly manner in batches. Since Zhoushan Maritime Safety Administration activated the Level IV typhoon emergency response at 6:00 PM on August 3, nearly 30,000 passengers have been safely evacuated from the islands of Shengsi and Dongji. Starting from 2:00 PM on August 6, all 14 water passenger routes in the Shengsi direction have been fully suspended.

To ensure the safety and orderliness of the entire passenger evacuation process, the maritime department relies on the work mechanism of the Zhoushan Northern (Zhejiang-Shanghai) Water Passenger Transport Safety Governance Demonstration Zone to strictly implement refined control measures in the typhoon prevention plan. Through information-based supervision platforms such as Smart Maritime and VTS, dynamic inspections and monitoring are conducted on passenger routes and docked passenger ships within the jurisdiction, tracking the navigation and anchoring dynamics of vessels throughout the process. Comprehensive methods such as drone inspections, maritime patrol boat cruises, and on-site dock inspections are used to conduct full-coverage typhoon hazard checks on passenger ships, focusing on verifying the condition of navigation equipment and anchoring and mooring facilities, urging passenger transport companies to strictly fulfill their primary responsibility for safety production, and scientifically adjusting passenger evacuation schedules. Emergency duty and monitoring are simultaneously strengthened, with multi-channel rolling releases of typhoon warnings and suspension notices, fully reinforcing the maritime safety defense line during passenger evacuation.

The maritime department reminds travelers planning to visit islands during the summer vacation to closely follow official typhoon warnings and updates on route suspensions and resumptions, adjust travel plans accordingly, and temporarily refrain from traveling to coastal islands in Zhejiang during the typhoon's impact. All docked and navigating vessels must continuously monitor changes in the typhoon's path, strictly implement duty and inspection systems, and carry out windproof reinforcement measures item by item to ensure vessel safety.
