Guangxi Water Transport River-Sea Integrated Dispatching Platform Begins Trial Operation

Recently, the Guangxi Waterway River-Sea Integrated Dispatching Platform was launched for trial operation, marking a significant milestone in the digital transformation of Guangxi's waterway transportation. This lays a solid digital foundation for the full navigation of the Pinglu Canal and the quality and efficiency improvement of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor.

Previously, the ship locks on the Guangxi Xijiang shipping trunk line, the ship locks along the Pinglu Canal, and the Beibu Gulf Port operated under independent regional dispatching, with prominent barriers due to fragmented cross-departmental data, poor coordination between ship locks and ports, and insufficient river-sea intermodal collaboration. These issues became major bottlenecks in reducing costs and improving efficiency in waterway transportation, highlighting the urgent need to establish an integrated river-sea dispatching platform.

It is understood that the newly launched platform can achieve unified management in five areas: platform portal, operation monitoring, dispatching command, intelligent control, and information services. It features the "Four Ones" characteristics: seamless integration of river-sea data with one click, full-line navigation with a single application, intelligent dispatching replacing manual operations, and integrated collaboration to support the construction of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor. As an important component of the smart canal, the platform enables efficient coordinated dispatching of "ships, locks, and ports" across rivers and seas, significantly enhancing the navigation efficiency and service level of Guangxi's waterways. With its robust digital capabilities, it fully unleashes the comprehensive potential of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor.

The platform will be deployed in phases, initially selecting non-Xijiang joint dispatching ship locks for pilot promotion to test the system's functional stability in practice. Once the pilot phase is mature, it will be gradually extended to ship locks in the Xijiang River Basin, ship locks along the Pinglu Canal, and the Beibu Gulf Port, ultimately achieving full coverage of integrated "river-sea" dispatching for Guangxi's waterways.
