The Pinglu Canal Perception and Transmission Network has been fully completed.
On August 15, the perception network and transmission network of the Pinglu Canal were fully completed, providing robust technical support for its operational launch in September. This backbone project of the new western land-sea corridor will provide fundamental data support for canal scheduling, operation, maintenance, and emergency command, while ensuring that command and dispatch instructions can be accurately delivered even under extreme weather conditions or high concurrent traffic.
The perception network and transmission network are like the "sensory system" and "nerve fibers" of the canal. The perception network integrates more than ten technical methods, including video surveillance, Vessel Automatic Identification System (VDES), Very High Frequency (VHF), radar, and an all-time-space lock system. It covers scenarios such as locks, waterways, high slopes, bridges, and storage yards, building a "land-water-air-space" monitoring and perception system. This creates a three-dimensional perception network that fuses data from land, waterways, low-altitude, and satellite remote sensing. The transmission network ensures that the massive perception data "flows smoothly and transmits stably." A total of 262 kilometers of high-speed optical fiber private network has been laid along both sides of the canal, forming a high-bandwidth, low-latency, and highly reliable wired transmission backbone. This enables real-time, lossless transmission of all monitoring videos, radar echoes, and hydrological reports along the canal, providing a continuous and stable data stream for backend analysis and decision-making. Additionally, a "5G private network + edge computing" dual-engine architecture has been introduced, deploying edge computing power at key nodes to process tasks such as vessel recognition and video analysis locally, reducing end-to-end response time to milliseconds.
Currently, the Pinglu Canal construction and management team is fully advancing the integration and access of various system data, combining the "intelligent perception" of the perception network with the "ultra-fast transmission" of the transmission network to provide a solid foundation for the smart navigation and intelligent operation and maintenance of the Pinglu Canal.
