Ningbo Maritime Authorities Deliver the "First Lesson of the New Semester" at the Grand Port
Recently, Ningbo Chuanshan Maritime Office, in collaboration with Ningbo High-Tech Zone Experimental School, innovatively launched the "Red + Blue" immersive ideological and political education research activity at the grand sea port. Twenty Young Pioneers stepped out of the classroom, entered a world-class port, boarded a maritime patrol boat, and explored a clean energy base, embarking on an immersive journey of red inspiration, blue ocean exploration, and green enlightenment.

This research activity focused on real-world teaching, interactive experiences, and hands-on science education to create a three-dimensional, immersive maritime ideological and political classroom. The first stop was the Beisan Terminal Building at Ningbo Zhoushan Port. In the port's cultural exhibition hall, students attentively listened to explanations and gained close insights into the stories of struggle and responsibility behind the "hardcore strength" of the world-class port. Standing at the panoramic viewing window, students gazed at the bustling scene of giant ships and towering cranes, marveling at the busy port and directly experiencing the charm of Ningbo Port and the vitality of the marine economy. Through the vivid and detailed explanations of the "Safe Little Boat" volunteers, the development history of the port, maritime protection stories, and achievements in marine construction unfolded one by one, quietly planting the seeds of red ideals in the hearts of the children.
"Put on your life jackets, we're heading out to sea!" Accompanied by cheerful calls, the students boarded the "Maritime Patrol 0718" boat to begin an exciting sea patrol experience. The "Safe Little Boat" volunteers patiently guided the students on how to properly wear life jackets, master basic water safety skills, and learn practical safety knowledge such as drowning prevention and maritime risk avoidance.
On the bridge, the captain transformed into a science lecturer, unlocking the mysteries of navigation for the students. "This is called a very high frequency radio. Press this button, and ships can communicate with each other..." Various professional maritime instruments were introduced one by one, with the captain explaining their functions and maritime escort stories in simple and understandable language. During the voyage, with the sea breeze brushing their faces and endless waves in sight, the students recognized different types of ships. The previously dull textbook knowledge came alive as vivid real-world scenes unfolded before their eyes, allowing them to truly feel the vibrant vitality of the marine industry.
Saying goodbye to the blue sea, the research team entered the Zhejiang LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) Receiving Station, where they embarked on green and exciting scientific experiments, bringing the activity to a climax. Cool physical and chemical experiments like ultra-low temperature gasification and expansion reactions amazed the students, drawing continuous applause. Staff used experiments to teach students about LNG storage, transportation, and safety management, as well as the critical role of green energy in urban supply, industrial upgrades, and low-carbon development. The students eagerly raised their hands to participate in interactive activities, and the visible and tangible experiments greatly stimulated their enthusiasm for exploring marine technology and green development.
The Young Pioneers participating in the research activity expressed their thoughts: "Before, I could only see ports and the sea in books. This time, I personally visited a grand port, boarded a maritime patrol boat, and saw the busy port operations with my own eyes. I learned so much about water safety and marine science—it was truly amazing!" "I finally understand where the hardcore strength of a world-class port comes from, and I also realize how hard it is for the maritime officers to protect the sea. In the future, I want to study marine knowledge diligently and strive to become a little guardian of our blue territory."
"Traditional classrooms focus on theoretical teaching, while this walking ideological and political class integrates red education, marine science, safety education, and innovative experiences into one. It allows students to step out of textbooks, connect with the ocean, and perceive the development of their hometown. It not only broadens the children's horizons but also deeply instills a sense of patriotism and marine consciousness," said Jiang Chunxiao, a leading teacher from Ningbo High-Tech Zone Experimental School.
Tong Qingqing, Deputy Director of the Comprehensive Office of Ningbo Chuanshan Maritime Office, stated that this "walking ideological and political classroom" is the first upgraded research activity conducted after the provincial-level juvenile maritime school was established at the school this year. Building on the previous "Red + Blue" grand port research route, it incorporates the green quality resources of the clean energy base, further expanding the collaborative education model of "maritime + education" and providing new experiences for the regular linkage mechanism between the maritime office and the school.
