During the 2026 Spring Festival, the passenger traffic volume of the "mini three links" across the Taiwan Strait increased by more than 30% year on year.
People's Daily Online, Fuzhou, February 25 (Yang Haoyu) During this year's Spring Festival holiday, the cross-strait "mini three links" passenger routes experienced a travel boom. According to statistics from the Fujian Maritime Safety Administration, the four cross-strait "mini three links" passenger routes transported a total of 47,000 passengers, a significant increase of 33.14% compared to last year's Spring Festival holiday.
At the same time, coastal waterway passenger transport in Fujian also delivered an impressive "report card." During the holiday period, Fujian's coastal waterways transported a total of 2.2767 million passengers, an increase of 17.57% compared to last year. Among the popular routes, the Putian Meizhou Island passenger route transported a total of 522,000 passengers, an increase of 8.5%; the Xiamen Lujiang night cruise and other maritime tourist passenger routes transported a total of 209,400 passengers, an increase of 15.25%.
Faced with peak passenger flow and complex winter maritime weather, the Fujian Maritime Safety Administration strengthened daily scheduling and 24-hour on-duty monitoring, conducted in-depth inspections and rectifications of risk hazards, implemented upgraded control measures for major hazardous sources, and proactively defended against adverse weather such as strong winds and fog. During the Spring Festival holiday, no maritime traffic accidents occurred along Fujian's coast.
