All 37 passenger ferry routes in Wenzhou have been suspended.

As Typhoon "Saudel" approached, the Wenzhou Maritime Department scientifically planned the sequence of ship arrivals at the port and organized coal transport ships to quickly complete berthing and unloading. As of 12:00 on August 25, the last coal ship in the Cangnan jurisdiction completed the unloading of the remaining coal, accomplishing the set task before the Level II typhoon emergency response was initiated.

Due to the variable path of Typhoon "Saudel," from August 20 to 25, the maritime department continuously focused on ensuring the supply of essential goods for people's livelihoods. The Cangnan Huadian Power Plant terminal operated non-stop, and six coal ships, including "Sanshui 809," "Zheyang 97," and "Shunhang Development," unloaded a total of 191,000 tons of coal into storage before the arrival of severe weather. After the unloading, the power plant's total coal stock reached 440,000 tons, sufficient to support full-load power generation for over 13 days, providing a solid guarantee for electricity supply during the critical summer peak period and typhoon weather.

It is understood that during the typhoon period, the maritime department continuously focused on the transportation of key livelihood materials such as coal. They proactively coordinated with port operators, optimized ship scheduling plans, and arranged berthing and departure sequences reasonably. This minimized waiting and idle time for unloading, improved the efficiency of coal loading and unloading turnover, and made every effort to ensure uninterrupted energy and material transportation during the typhoon.

At 15:00 on August 26, this year's 18th typhoon "Saudel" was located approximately 610 kilometers northeast of the Zhejiang-Fujian border at sea, with a maximum wind force of level 14 at its center. Based on the typhoon's dynamics and development trends, the Wenzhou Maritime Bureau initiated a Level II typhoon emergency response at 18:00 on August 25. As of 14:30 on August 26, all 37 passenger ferry routes in Wenzhou had been suspended, and nearly 2,600 passengers from islands such as Nanji and Beiji had been safely evacuated.

To ensure the safety and orderliness of the entire passenger evacuation process, the maritime department strictly implemented detailed control measures in the typhoon prevention plan. They organized law enforcement forces to strengthen patrol inspections of key water areas such as ports, bridges, and typhoon shelters. Using smart maritime information management platforms, they issued typhoon safety reminders and tracked the navigation and anchoring dynamics of ships in real time. They also conducted typhoon safety inspections of passenger ships, focusing on verifying the condition of navigation equipment and anchoring facilities, and urged passenger transport companies to strictly fulfill their primary responsibility for safety production.
