June 2026 data on soda ash imports and exports

According to customs data, China imported 20,500 tons of soda ash in June 2026, representing a year-on-year increase of 1,607.82% and a month-on-month increase of 22.64%. From January to June 2026, the cumulative import volume of soda ash reached approximately 132,700 tons, up 672.71% year-on-year, with an additional increase of about 115,600 tons in imports.

The top three sources of soda ash imports in June were the United States, Japan, and Poland, accounting for 97.91%,2.00%, and 0.09% of the total imports, respectively.                                                                                              

In June 2026, China exported 240,700 tons of soda ash, a year-on-year increase of 53.23% but a month-on-month decrease of 8.48%. From January to June 2026, the cumulative export volume of soda ash reached 1,430,200 tons, up 44.06% year-on-year, with an increase of approximately 437,400 tons in export volume.

The top three soda ash export destinations in June were Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Zimbabwe, accounting for 21%,15%, and 12% of the total exports respectively.
